On behalf of the committee of Mapping and Surveying History International (MASH), with myself as chairman, Bob Linke as Treasurer, George Baitch as Secretary, and Keith Cadogan as Publicity Officer, may I welcome you to the world wide web site for our history group. Each of the committee may be contacted individually through our e-mail addresses as listed on this site. The formation of this group is the culmination of my own experiences in attending events and perusing information from a wide variety of different organisations, all with the common association and true love of the history of exploration, mapping and surveying. Each group seemed to be content with only patronising their own limited circle of events, without much cross communication about the many functions and exhibitions into which much effort and excellence were input, but about which all of the interested people wishing to attend may not have known. Within this site it is our great hope that all of the broader aspects of the history of mapping, exploration, discovery and surveying can find a caring home, and the many links which are provided here, along with our comprehensive event, book review and exhibition notification listing may offer all people interested in such a wide variety of opportunities with the most extensive information on such topics available. Please let us know any comments that you may have regarding this site, and we are all most receptive to suggestions, information or providing
